Why you should go to #VMworld (2016 US edition) – vLenzker
When I started blogging I would have never believed that I would say this. This is a sponsored post. No no, I am not making money by writing this, but I was gifted with a VMworld blogger pass for Las Vegas. OpenStack Architecture and Stability
OpenStack has been getting a bad reputation for being impossible to get stable at scale. Architects can get it working as a PoC, but when it comes time to actually turn it over to the operations team, there are natural challenges. This presentation draws out the architecture and discusses how to achieve stability in your OpenStack deployment at scale.
There are different viewpoints on why IT departments would deploy OpenStack. Some believe there is cost savings that could be achieved through the use of open source infrastructure under the framework. Others view OpenStack as actually solving the business problem of IT agility. This discussion highlights the latter. Getting infrastructure to application owners/developers more quickly and leveraging their current SW development toolsets. The net result is developers getting more done in less time.

Thanks to the support from the management teams in both my Storage and Availability BU (SABU) and the Cloud Native Apps BU (CNABU), I started my Take-3 at the beginning of May. This is when my CNA articles on VIC (vSphere Integrated Containers) and Photon Controller first started to appear. Only…Read More
